Every year, the Indiana Chamber of Commerce chooses 100 companies throughout Indiana for their distinguished Best Places to Work list. Winners are chosen based on benefits packages, company policies, and satisfaction surveys completed by employees.
The competition was stiff for 2017, but we’re happy to report that CleanSlate has been ranked #16 on the Best Places to Work in Indiana list in the small company category (15-74 employees). We join 26 other tech companies on this year’s list, and we’re proud to be recognized as a business that truly values our employees.
This award is important to us for a couple of reasons. From a company perspective, it helps us not only see how we’re doing, but also shows us where we can improve. From an employee perspective, it validates that our people are working for a great company that cares about their happiness and wellbeing. We’ve learned a lot about our business during this process—and one of the most encouraging things we learned is that our people really love to work here.
We think CleanSlate is a great place to work because of lots of different factors, but one of the most important is flexibility. Our employees regularly work from home or on the road as well as at the office, and we aren’t rigid when it comes to when or how long they work on site. We simply expect our employees to do great work and to deliver it on time. We also have a flexible vacation schedule, and a very casual dress code.
But what really sets our business apart is our culture. This is a fun, laid back place to work where everyone supports each other—and where we treat each other more like friends than coworkers. We don’t get into office politics, and we don’t have supervisors breathing down your neck. Instead, we give employees the freedom and flexibility they need to do their best work, which is one of the biggest reasons we’ve been able to build such a strong team.
Make no mistake—we are hard workers. But we love what we do, and that makes it pretty easy to show up every day with a smile. And we hope that by being named one of Indiana’s Best Places to Work, we can show even more people that we’re running an exciting, world-class technology business right here in Indiana.
